Nosebleed Spicy

I’m in the closing moments of the E3 project right now, which means we’re all getting cranky, barking at each other a little, and generally being fed up with this project and not able to wait for it to be over.

That being said, we had a small saving grace this week. Since it’s May Holidays this week, the building where the Ubisoft studio is located is doing electrical maintenance at set times. Tonight was from 6h30 to 9h30 PM, so everybody split and had a pleasant 3 hours well away from each other’s company.

Myself, I took this opportunity to have a long dinner with Helene, whom I unfortunately rarely see nowadays. When I asked her where she wanted to eat, she replied without hesitation; “Spicy!” And so we went to Gu Yi, a somewhat upscale Hunan restaurant which we quite fancy nowadays.

And since it was Hunan, it was typically spicy, from the 鱼头 (Yu Tou, “Fish Head”) to the glorious 辣子鸡丁 (La Zi Ji Ding, a dish consisting of pieces of chicken drowned in red peppers.)

How spicy was it? Well; in the middle of the meal, under the assault of pepper, my nose actually started bleeding.

So there you have it. Next time you fancy eating really spicy, and the waitress asks how spicy, ask for it… Nosebleed Spicy!
